Vomiting also known as throwing up is the voluntary or involuntary expulsion of the content of the stomach through the mouth. It can be the result of ailment like pregnancy, gastroenteritis, pregnancy, food poisoning, motion sickness, overeating and so on.
How to stop vomiting
Here are some ways you can stop vomiting from various causes:
- Drink ginger tea
Ginger has antinausea properties that can help a person feel better.
- Cloves
Cloves are distinguished for their antiseptic properties that has a positive effect on the system. Keep few pieces of cloves in your mouth and suck them. The scent, aroma and taste of cloves can bring an immediate stop to vomiting. You can also drink cloves tea to avoid vomiting.
- Mint leaves
Mint contains powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. Mint cures vomiting very effectively by calming the stomach. It activates the enzymes necessary for digestion and beats vomiting. So a cup mint tea will be helpful.
- Aromatherapy
Using aromatherapy or smelling scent can relieve vomiting. To practice aromatherapy, try deep breathing with an open essential oil bottle or add a few drops to a cotton ball. Scents that have anti vomiting properties include lavender, chamomile, lemon oil, peppermint, rose, and clove.
- Wrist acupressure
Acupressure is a popular traditional Chinese medicine remedy. Acupressure uses pressure to stimulate certain points on the body to relieve symptoms. Applying pressure to pressure point Neiguan (P-6), a spot on the palm side of the forearm near your wrist, may help relieve nausea and vomiting. To find the pressure point place 3 fingers across your wrist.
Rub this point in a firm circular motion for 2 minutes.
If you are vomiting a lot, it’s critical to drink a lot of fluids to avoid dehydration. Sip the fluid. Example of possible fluids are water, lemonade, tea. Avoid alcohol and carbonated beverages when vomiting.
